Murderous Cops

I am 100% sympathetic to the indignities upon black Americas particularly black men at the hands of police. Because of some bad actors they are all lumped together and treated as potential criminals.

However, time will come, and soon I hope, when black Americans will stop trying to make martyrs of every shooting victim and start laying the blame where it belongs: the victim. Ninety percent of those shot were resisting arrest in some form. In the police’s mind, “Will I go home alive today?” runs through their brain. I doubt very much that they purposely go looking for a black man to gun down.

On the other hand, there have been instances where the police did act recklessly. The no knock warrant is a good example; especially true when they have the wrong address. How many fatal shootings would have been avoided if the police had issued a warning, they were serving a warrant?

The woman who was fatally shot is an example of the no knock warrant. The boy friend didn’t help by firing a shot through the window thinking it was an intruder he heard. The police responded the only way they could.

All this nonsense of defunding the police is just that: nonsense. The police do need some better training and better psychological testing. Some cops are just thugs with a badge and should never have been allowed near the public.

My mantra is: Respect the gun. Police have a job few of us would take. Good or bad they deserve our respect.

Someone reading this might say, “You’d think differently if it were you.” Well, I have been there.

A few years ago, I was stopped by a Grand Prairie policeman. It was around 4:00am and I was on my way to work. He asked for some id and I handed him my driver’s license. My co-worker didn’t have any id and gave a phony name. he was immediately hand cuffed and put in the patrol car. He then told me he was going to handcuff me while he ran a search on my co-worker. It could have gone very bad very quickly but I said ok. A little later he uncuffed me and let me go. My co-worker went to jail.

On another occasion a black man was thrown and roughly treated because the police were looking for a white guy that had just committed a robbery. Now, that was an act of overzealously. How can you confuse a black man when you are supposing to be looking for a white guy?

A few years ago, I was stopped by two Pantego motorcycle cops. Now, Pantego is a hick town surrounded by Arlington Texas. I guess they didn’t want to be annexed and Arlington just grew around them.

I was driving a wrecked car from a repair shop back to my house. I don’t remember but maybe something was dragging. Anyhow, the trainee cop told me I could drive that car in that condition on the street. The other cop was a few feet away with his hand on his firearm. I felt like asking the young cop, “If I were a white woman would your partner have his hand on his gun also?” but, I wisely kept my thoughts to myself.

I was working for a security firm at the time so I told my supervisor my experience. He had been a Dallas policeman. He proceeded to tell me that the guys that washout of the Dallas PD wind up joining the smaller police forces. He also said these are the guys that are just looking for an excuse to use their firearm. Lucky me.

I also once worked with a guy who was wanting to be a policeman. He was really gung-ho and I just knew if he ever made it into a police force, he would be killed or kill someone.

My advice when stopped by the police: keep you hands on the steering while and always announce your movements.

Finally check out Chris Rock on YouTube. Look for the clip “How not to get your ass kicked by the police”. Funny but good advice.
